I’ve been running the dock now for a few days and I must admit I am completely surprised by it! It is well made, connects flawlessly, the monitors are crisp and do not flicker.
The dock actually has some weight to it and stays put when connecting the tablet. To be honest I cannot tell the difference between using the tablet with the dock compared to the tower PC it replaced.
I’m extremely happy and would recommend this dock to anyone. The docking station works seamlessly with Surface Pro 3. There was no need for driver installation and it recognized all of my USB peripherals.
Make sure you have the mini display port connections for your HDMI ports on your monitors. The surface dock is a must have in my classroom. I use my surface to power a large true touch monitor and many other features of my classroom. It is so nice to be able to have speaker access, display out, charging, printer access, direct internet access, and a slideshow clicker all connected or not with one simple magnetic plug. I can plug the dock in and have my class all ready for online quizzes, music, demos, presentations, etc.
Then just unplug it and have my tablet back and ready to go. This dock feels very solid and high quality.
