I have just started using this add-in, but can see already that it is going to save me a lot of time on fabrication drawings. It makes it very quick to place views of parts from an assembly. We do not typically use multisheet drawings, so I don’t have a need for and therefore haven’t tried the parts list sheet number listing.
I am just using the view placing functionality. I have run into one minor issue, which is very annoying for my intended purpose. Typically I will be using this to place the views of plates and other members for welded structures.
Not all of these parts need to be detailed for example, a simple rectangular plate , because they are fully described in the parts list. The preview thumbnail in the QuickViews dialog box would typically be all I need to recognize which parts need a view and which ones don’t. However, the preview images often fail to load for me.
Switching back and forth between different selected parts will eventually cause it to load. This is annoying, but it still gets the job done faster than my previous method of individually opening up each part file to check it for the need to detail and then placing the view if required.
